Day 2 - Cultural identities and Latvian evening.

The 10th of July was a very eventful day. In the first part of the day, we took part in various activities connected with identity both on a personal and cultural level. In various tasks and activities we explored our own identities at first. Then we moved on to work in nationally mixed groups  and discussed various Latvian and Georgian signs and symbols and their meanings. At the end of the task, the groups invented their own symbols and explained the meaning of it to others. It was an interesting task where we got to know others beliefs and interests and tried to connect them in a one symbol.

In the later part of the day the Latvian evening took place. The Latvian ladies sang a Latvian folk song, showed the others how to dance a Latvian folk song and the others gladly participated. There was also a quiz about Latvia and an activity where others tried to pronounce Latvian words. In the end, some delicious food brought from Latvia was served- cheeses, candy, the "buberts" and cold soup, as well as other sweets and the Latvian black balsam. The evening ended with a beautiful sunset over the Rustavi hills.
