First meeting of Latvian participants in Liepāja

This week at the office of Radi Vidi Pats was held the first meeting for the Latvian participants of youth exchange “Imagination is the true magic carpet”. From Radi Vidi Pats we are going to send 12 girls from Latvia to Rustavi to participate in this project. The main goal was to meet everyone, to get to know each other before and learn more information about the project in order to prepare better for the journey to Georgia.

During this meeting all participants were introduced to the agenda of youth exchange, aims, tasks and planned results of the youth exchange. The participants were given some homework to prepare before going to Georgia and one of them is to learn more information about the life of Jūlijs Straume and to study his artistic work.

For this meeting we also invited Giorgi Gogilidze from Georgia who works as a long-term volunteer in Vaiņode secondary school. We asked him to prepare a presentation and to tell about his country, its culture, history, traditions, food and other interesting facts. He also managed to teach us the first phrases in Georgian language.

After the informative part the participants had a tour around office and its neighborhood so they could see other mosaic works made by project coordinator and mosaic specialist Agnese with helping hand of other volunteers from Georgia that participated in another project last year at Radi Vidi Pats.

This day was full of discoveries and gave us some insights about the adventures that are waiting for us in Rustavi. And of course, we couldn’t end our meeting without taking our first group photo together.
